Hi, I'm Kalen

I’ve been taking photos since middle school, and have worked in documentary photography, artistic and creative photography, and professional photography.

Some things you may want to know about me before inviting me into your life's most special moments:

• Love is love and y’all means all. I identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community and am 100% queer affirming.

​

• I’m also 100% affirming of any healthy love, no matter the race, religion, appearance, sexuality, gender, or ability.​

​

• I believe in telling your story through authentic moments. I’m here to capture without getting in the way.

​

• I love nature and the outdoors — I even used to live in a van! Give me all the bohemian, granola wedding vibes.

​

• In addition to the vanlife years, I’ve lived in Maryland, Alabama, DC, and Virginia, but I moved to Asheville a few years ago and absolutely consider it the truest home I’ve ever known.

​

• This is not my only career, so my availability may be limited, but I am 100% willing to travel for events when possible!

​

• My partner Matt often joins me at photography jobs as a second shooter and assistant.
